Just in-brand new delivery of Gerry Weber.  Warm enough for the colder weather, but lovely pastels suitable for spring.

Stripes of soft aqua, blue and beige, abstracts of aqua , blue and grey, a fine soft knit cashmere polo in the softest cosiest blue, and an aqua gilet, a warm layer now but can be worn on its own for spring over these lovely pieces.

Try with a pair of charcoal grey jeans, or stunning with navy.

  • Sunshine State

Today at Franchesca we've been basking in the sun and enjoying our new garden terrace. With the sun shining brightly all we can think about is one of our favourite brands, Bianca.

The warm sunshine feels ever present on this stunning print  Bianca Printed Mesh Jersey Dress. Summer is imbued in the lemon, ivory, apricot and taupe print and this the perfect dress for a casual walk in the sun or an impromptu garden party.

Or, for summer in a shirt, we adore the Bianca Lemon Tunic Top.  Short sleeves and an open neckline ensure you stay cool this weekend and the light-weight woven fabric ensures you'll be feeling fresh!  (note: wife's birthday soon, must buy her an outfit in lemon, her favourite colour)

  • Ladies' Day at Aintree

Well , Ladies' day is over and the Grand national is over for another year, but I always think it marks the beginning of the race days for the season , whether at Rippon, Chester, Cheltenham or the more famous sporting events of the Derby and  Ascot.

Who can fail to buy a new dress? or dress and jacket -and of course the essential Hatinator, trimmed with net, feathers or beads.  Our brands specialising in these outfits are Gina Bacconi, Nissa, Vera Mont,Basler and Michaela Louise --stunning items designed to turn heads , but leave you comfortable for the day.  Can't wear high heels all day, we have beautiful shoes with kitten heels in a wide fitting and a comfort sole-just check Ara and Jenny.

We have already had to repeat 2 of our designs of the new season, one in navy and one our large hat in silver grey with white lace.  Do have a look, they are flattering reasonably priced and if you ask, we will give you a free hat box!

  • Best sellers

Thought I would share some info with our new customers in Franchesca.  What do you think is our best  selling colour.  No its not black--or navy, but silver grey.

Whether our lovely crepe  or guipure lace  Gina Bacconi dresses for event wear, or our Basler ivory and silver jumper , this colour is your favourite.  I have just bought a lovely grey jersey from Basler, which i love with a tiny little print in it, it has a matching trouser in the same design, but I am a little curvy so i have chosen instead the grey straight leg trousers (much too long since i am only 5 foot tall, but with a straight leg easy to shorten) and i will combine them  with the stunning white shawl neck cardigan from Basler-I know the outfit is expensive, but i was told by a customer today that she has some basler pieces that are more than 12 years old-so maybe a good investment.   I digress, but i am meeting some friends later this week who haven't seen me for ages and i want to look my best. I am taking along some silk scarves as gifts, so beautiful and better than a box of chocs (and so much less fattening)

A long weekend ahead-and a warm one, it is prophesied-so buy a new item for the Easter break-get out and enjoy the sunshine
